When developing my project, I knew that I obviously wanted to use trees and the moon (because it's called Dark of the Moon.) When I realized that everyone was going to have the moon somewhere in their project, I wanted to do something different, and then I remembered September 27/28, 2015, we had a red moon, and that sparked my idea of the red moon, I wanted the red moon to be the center of attention, so I decided to put everything inside it. & that's pretty much how I came up with my project. Photoshop was a lot easier to use and understand that illustrator, and I learned a lot on it. Brushes were really the main thing that I used and they helped me get exactly how I imagined and wanted my poster to look like. I also did learn how to download fonts on illustrator which were also a big part of my poster. |
When I started my project, I had originally drawn the trees, instead of using brushes, So it did not look very well, and it was pretty messy. I decides to just start over, even though I kept my same idea and plan, just spent more time on it, and used tree brushes, which made my poster look much cleaner. It did suck having to start all over though, but it was worth it.
Most of the critiques I got were not very helpful, sadly. Most of them just told me to add in the details for the play, since that is what I was missing.
With my poster, I'm trying to communicate mysteriousness and fear of the unknown. From the information we had of the play, it seemed pretty dark and scary. That is what I wanted to showcase in my project. But, I used the bright red to call more attention, while still being creepy and dark.
